Clemson Compliance Corner - NCAA Rules Regarding Complimentary Admissions to Home and Away Competition
As an IPTAY member, please remember you are considered a representative of an institution’s athletics interests (i.e., booster) for Clemson University. As such, the NCAA has strict guidelines concerning boosters and complimentary admissions to home and away competition. While the NCAA legislates the number of complimentary admissions an eligible student-athlete may receive in his or her respective sport, it is impermissible for a booster to purchase such complimentary admissions from a student-athlete. Such an action can render a student-athlete ineligible for competition. Please do not contact student-athletes and/or their family or friends in an effort to purchase their complimentary admissions.
Additionally, student-athletes and their family/friends should not be receiving access from boosters to suite, press box, or sideline viewing at home or away competition. Under NCAA rules, this is considered an extra benefit for a student-athlete as it would be considered a special arrangement by a booster. Such an action can also render a student-athlete ineligible for competition.
