Clemson Compliance Corner - NCAA Rules Regarding Complimentary Admissions
Please remember, as an IPTAY member, you are considered a representative of an institution’s athletics interests (i.e., booster) for Clemson University. As such, the NCAA has strict guidelines concerning boosters and complimentary admissions. While the NCAA legislates the number of complimentary admissions an eligible student-athlete may receive in his or her respective sport, it is impermissible for a booster to purchase such complimentary admissions from a student-athlete. Such an action could render a student-athlete ineligible for competition. Please do not contact student-athletes and/or their family or friends in an effort to purchase their complimentary admissions.
Additionally, student-athletes and their family/friends should not be receiving access from boosters to suite, press box, or sideline seating. Under NCAA rules, this is considered an extra benefit for a student-athlete as it would be considered a special arrangement by a booster. Such an action could also render a student-athlete ineligible for competition.
With Clemson Football in the 2020 ACC Championship Game on Saturday, December 19 at 4pm ET versus Notre Dame, please remember the above guidance to ensure our student-athletes’ eligibility remains intact.
Please continue to Ask Before You Act and always feel free to contact Clemson University Athletics Compliance Services at cuacs@clemson.edu. Thank you for your continued support of Clemson Athletics!
