Ronny Chieng, Aparna Nancherla, Karen Chee and Bowen Yang are among the first guests on the comedian's show, which premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
Amid a dark time for Asian Americans, Joel Kim Booster's new radio show looks to be a refuge for the community to laugh through the pain.
The stand-up comedian, who was a regular on NBC's Sunnyside and consulting producer on Netflix's Big Mouth, is hosting Joy F*ck Club, a conversation series that will see Booster and his fellow Asian comic luminaries dish on a variety of topics related to the Asian American experience. The show, which premieres tonight, will air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on 88rising Radio (SiriusXM channel 305), and will be available to watch 24 hours later on the SiriusXM app.
The first six episodes will feature, in order: The Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng, Aparna Nancherla (Fox's The Great North), Sierra Katow (Last Comic Standing), Australian stand-up Aaron Chen, Late Night With Seth Meyers writer Karen Chee and SNL castmember Bowen Yang.
In response to the escalation in anti-Asian hate over the past year, this week 88rising Radio also launched the conversation series 88rising Speakers, which features Asian American leaders in politics, business and activism sharing ways to dismantle systemic racism.
Global Asian media company 88rising launched its SiriusXM Radio station last December and currently features daily programming including Dumb Early hosted by rapper and actor Dumbfoundead and SOSUPERSOUNDS hosted by DJ and singer SOSUPERSAM.
